Drive test analysis

Driving tests and crowd-sourced analytics

Providing carrier-grade wireless network services needs a full view of actual service quality. Lacks of quality, e.g. by missing coverage have to be detected as well as local service degradations.

By measuring what a wireless network subscriber would experience in any specific area, wireless carriers can make directed changes to their networks that provide better coverage and service to their customers.

Driving and walking testing are methods of measuring local performances and to collect information for deep issue analysis. Crowd-sourced testing are using smartphones from normal customers as probes and provide a real customers’ view.

Automatic drive test data classification

Network evaluation and pro-active network optimization need continuous and representative measurements. Today this is done by black-box testing and by repeated and standardized driving tests.

These measurements provide a huge amount of data and need to be analyzed. Brown-iposs is developing a full set of tools and methods to classify and post-process the data automatically. Post-processing includes visualization, providing access tools for drill-downs, export to optimization databases, and several helping scripts.

Tools for measurement analysis need a permanent maintenance and adaption, e.g. for new devices, new technologies, and new QoS-profiles (QoS: Quality of Service). For more details please contact us.
